Chelsea have been linked with South American star Gabriel Barbosa in previous years before he ended up signing for Inter Milan.
The 23-year-old spent 2019 on loan with Flamengo, where he scored 34 goals and provided 11 assists in 41 appearances for the club, helping them to win both the Brazilian league title as well as the coveted Copa Liberatores.
Despite his incredible season, his parent club Inter Milan have no interest in taking him back, and Flamengo are keen on signing him permanently but will now face competition from Premier League sides, with West Ham and Chelsea thought to be interested.
However, Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have dismissed the idea that there have been offers from England for Gabigol.
According to the report by the Italian newspaper, Chelsea were brought into the equation, perhaps to spice things up a little and give the transfer rumour a little boost.
Inter Milan are looking to get as much as they can for Gabigol and putting hype on his rumours in order to up his transfer value.
Nevertheless, will the Brazilian be a good signing for Chelsea?
