CHELSEA fans are worried the signing of Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund means Eden Hazard is heading to Real Madrid.
Borussia Dortmund have announced Pulisic has joined Chelsea in a deal worth £57.5m.
He will be loaned back to Dortmund for the rest of the season despite struggling for game time in recent months.
A Dortmund statement read: “Borussia Dortmund has agreed with the English Premier League club FC Chelsea on a transfer of the Dortmund offensive player Christian Pulisic with immediate effect.
“The British in turn lend the player until the end of the current season to BVB.
“The transfer fee to be paid by Chelsea for Pulisic, whose BVB contract would have expired at the end of next season, is 64 million euros. A rental fee for the coming half year is not due for BVB.”
And Chelsea fans, although excited by the deal to see the American join, are worried that it could mean Hazard leaves the club.
“Pulisic to Chelsea Hazard to Real confirmed,” one fan tweeted.
Another said: “Think it means hazard is surely gone. Prime hazard vs new league pulisic , i know which one I’d like to face. If it means we go for fekir instead I’d be ecstatic.”
And another wrote: “Pulisic Sign, Means Say Goodbye to Hazard? I hope no please…..”
And finally one wrote: “Christian Pulisic has signed for Chelsea, and will immediately be loaned back to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of the season. #WelcomePulisic (kind of) and goodbye to Eden Hazard in the summer!”
Hazard has been flirting with a move to Real Madrid for years and Maurizio Sarri called on him to make a decision earlier this week.
“It’s time to decide,” Sarri said. “We have to solve this problem if we want to programme the future.”
