Guarantee me game time or I leave Chelsea – Chelsea star sends clear message to Pochettino
Levi Colwill is now set to force a move away from Chelsea unless Mauricio Pochettino guarantees him regular playing time.
The 20-year-old has already been the subject of a £30m bid from Brighton after a phenomenal loan spell during the 2022/23 campaign.
An update from Fabrizio Romano claims that Brighton are set to send an improved offer worth £40m after Chelsea rejected their first move.
So, what is the latest on Levi Colwill and Chelsea? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to talkSPORT – Colwill is going to push for an exit from Stamford Bridge unless Pochettino promises him game time.
The England Under-21 international is determined to become a Premier League regular after helping Brighton qualify for the UEFA Europa League with a sixth place finish last season.
Pochettino certainly sounds keen to work with Colwill – The Times have stated that the Argentine even wants Chelsea to offer him a new contract, having been impressed by what he’s seen.
However, the promise of regular game time may cause someone else at Stamford Bridge to become unhappy.
Colwill operates as a left sided centre-back, where Chelsea already have Kalidou Koulibaly and Benoit Badiashile.
Therefore, Pochettino may have to drop one of the big-money arrivals to keep Colwill satisfied.
