Eden Hazard is out of Thursday’s BATE Borisov game in the Europa League, Maurizio Sarri told the media during the press conference.
The Belgian has a ‘back problem’ – the severity of the injury is not clear, but the Chelsea medical staff will try to ready Eden for this weekend where the Blues face Burnley in the Premier League.
The circumstances surrounding the injury are not yet clear. Hazard suffered a couple of knocks during Man United 2-2 draw, where he has been particularly closely marked by Nemanja Matic. However, Eden must also have strained his back during the training.
Sarri says Eden Hazard is out of tomorrow’s game for certain with a back problem. We are trying to resolve the situation before Sunday’s game against Burnley, he adds. #CFCvBATE
Sarri told media during the press conference, as cited by Daily Star: “He’s out. He’s got a back problem. “We’re trying to solve the problem for Sunday.”
Youngster Ethan Ampadu is also unavailable with a knee problem, while midfielder Jorginho will be given a breather.
