Hazard teases staying with Chelsea for the rest of his career

Eden Hazard has been considering the possibility of leaving Chelsea since at least December, when he stood up from the negotiating table and walked away from Chelsea’s £300k per week offer.

But as he’s been saying for the past couple months, that doesn’t necessarily mean that his mind is made up, or that he’s leaving for sure — even if we don’t consider that multiple factors have to come together for that to happen in the first place (i.e. Chelsea would have to be willing to sell and Real Madrid would have to be willing to pay up).

Of course, when he says he’s undecided, most Chelsea fans hear “I’m leaving” (and most Real Madrid fans hear “come and get me”). Which may or may not happen still.

But if he’s truly undecided, that means that there is also the possible outcome where he stays. Certainly, Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck was already operating under that assumption, now Hazard himself has confirmed it in his pre-match interview with Sky Sports, who will be broadcasting tomorrow’s massive showdown against Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.

“I can finish [my career] with Chelsea. No problem at all. I am very happy with this club, with the team, my family is happy here.

”So If I don’t go to Spain, it is not a problem. I love the fans – I think the fans love me! What happens in the future, I will be happy, so that’s it.”

If Hazard signs now, it will likely be the last major contract of his career, setting his Chelsea legend in stone.

Make it so.
