‘He can twist and turn away from challenges, Chelsea will be a better team with him’: Pundit says on 21-year-old Chelsea top target

Stewart Robson thinks Chelsea will be a better team next season if they sign Brighton’s Moises Caicedo.

Moises Caicedo, who’s just 21, enjoyed a fantastic individual campaign last year in the Premier League.

The Ecuador international is an all-action defensive midfielder that was colossus in the Brighton team last season, which is why nobody is surprised he’s linked with a potential transfer exit from the Amex Stadium.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Chelsea will be in discussions this week with Brighton over the potential transfer for Caicedo. He added that the player is certain to exit the Seagulls and personal terms are “very advanced” with Chelsea.

ESPN pundit Robson has explained why he’s a big fan of Chelsea’s midfield target:

“He (Caicedo) is a very good player… He can receive the ball, he can twist and turn away from challenges, he knows where his next pass is, and he’s agile as well. It makes them a better team,” Robson told ESPN.

The Guardian reported earlier this month that Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing £80million-rated Caicedo this summer.

Our hope is that the Blues are at the front of the queue for the Brighton enforcer.

The South American star has proven he can be dynamic in Premier League games both in and out of possession, which is why splashing the cash for him could be a shrewd decision.

He’s got the kind of energy and aggression that suits a defensive midfielder, the very position Chelsea need to strengthen. Also, he’s very accomplished and has quality on the ball.
