“He has improved alot” “Drop pride & Call him back” – Petr Cech urges Enzo Maresca to call back Chelsea star after Man City defeat
Chelsea have been told that they already own a goalkeeper who is ‘world-class’ with the club’s supporters calling for Robert Sanchez to be replaced.
Sanchez’s blunder against Manchester City left the Blues’ fans raging as he gifted Erling Haaland the chance to lob him after he came racing off his line.
The Spanish goalkeeper has endured a tricky season in West London with Sanchez having already been picked out as a weak link in Enzo Maresca’s team.
Following their defeat at the Etihad, the Premier League club have been made aware that one of the shot-stoppers they already own is ‘world-class’.
Petr Čech is urging Enzo Maresca to recall Djordje Petrović.
Petr Cech stated, “It’s evident that he has improved and is performing well in Strasbourg. I can’t elaborate further, but Enzo Maresca should set aside his pride and bring him back this January to assist us in the fight for the top four; he’s now a top goalkeeper.”
Cech added, “I don’t say Sanchez is not good, but he lacks the ability to make poor decisions that cost the team. He needs competition, and I think Djordje Petrovic will provide that.”
Djordje Petrovic also labelled ‘world class’ by Liam Rosenior
Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior believes that Chelsea loanee Djordje Petrovic is ‘world-class’ following his display against Lille.
The Ligue 1 side defeated Lille 2-1 to climb into eighth place with Petrovic making five saves and denying an xG of 1.26.
The Serbian shot-stopper also showed excellent ability on the ball as he managed a 92 per cent pass completion from his 53 attempts.
Following the win over Lille, Rosenior said: “We have seen huge progress from Petro’. He is a world-class goalkeeper. We see it every day and it is still paying off today.”
