“He has to take responsibility for it” – Rodrygo sends clear message to Chelsea star who wants to succeed

Estevao Willian, the wonderkid of Chelsea, debuted for the senior Brazil squad against Ecuador.

On Friday, the 17-year-old made his debut against Ecuador and became the fifth youngest player to appear for the senior Brazil national team.

With just 28 minutes remaining, 17-year-old Estevao Willian replaced Luiz Henrique as Brazil defeated Ecuador 1-0.

Rodrygo, who is only 23 years old, has promised to share his knowledge with the impressionable Estevao Willian.

Rodrygo made his debut as a teenager and is currently a vital member of Real Madrid’s and Brazil’s teams at the age of 23.

Speaking to Lance, Rodrygo said: “Regardless of age, I know I’m very young, I’m only 23, but I end up being the most experienced of the group.

“You see Estevao at 17, [Luiz] Henrique at 18. So, they are very young boys, so even though I’m young, I can pass on some of this experience to them.

“And there are also older players who pass on some of this experience to me. So, I think that, in short, it’s what the teacher said, about sharing responsibilities. Everyone knows their role, everyone has to take responsibility for it. And that’s the way. I think that when we really manage to do it, everyone is doing well, everyone takes responsibility, we’ll achieve great things.”
