“He keeps falling on his shoulder” “I must bench him” – Mikel Arteta slams Arsenal star after what 21-years-old Chelsea man did to him in Derby draw
Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with their London rivals earlier secured them a valuable point against Arsenal.
Gabriel Martinelli gave Arsenal the lead in the 60th minute after a lackluster first half. But Pedro Neto cancelled off his goal ten minutes later.
Thomas Partey did not satisfy Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal had yet another disappointing performance, extending their league winless streak to four games.
It’s hardly good news for Arteta’s title chances since the draw puts the Gunners’ lead over the summit at nine points going into the international break.
A thought to the title race wasn’t the only unpleasantry that the manager experienced at the Bridge, as Arteta was spotted showing anger towards Thomas Partey.
Sky Sports reporter Oliver Yew noted the Spaniard’s frustration, saying, “Mikel Arteta throws his arms up in frustration as Cole Palmer skips past Partey again.
“The Arsenal midfielder has fallen for the Palmer drop of the shoulder a couple of time already this afternoon.”
From the off, it seemed as though Arteta had instructed Partey to man mark Cole Palmer, who had a relatively quiet evening thanks to Arsenal’s efforts.
That being said, Partey did not have his finest game of the season, reinforcing why the manager was unimpressed with the midfielder’s inability to read Palmer’s game.
