“He keeps proving me wrong Every week” – Peter Crouch hails Chelsea star after what he did in 2-1 win over Leicester

With a 2-1 victory over Leicester City on Saturday afternoon, Chelsea maintained their impressive away record this season, and one player in particular truly dazzled Peter Crouch with his quality of play.

With a significant victory in the Premier League this past weekend, there is no question that this Chelsea team is headed in the right direction.

After the international break, the Blues came back to King Power Stadium with three points. To be fair, if they had been in the game, the outcome would have been far more convincing than the 2-1 score.

The home side were perhaps fortunate to keep 11 men on the field for the duration of the game, too. Joe Cole believes Wilfred Ndidi should have been sent off after the Leicester midfielder fouled Cole Palmer with real aggression during the first half.

Peter Crouch praises Nicolas Jackson display away to Leicester
Former Premier League striker Peter Crouch paid huge respect to Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson after his contribution at the weekend.

The 23-year-old striker opened the scoring for the Blues with his seventh league goal of the season, which was a superb finish with the outside of his boot.

When reacting to Jackson’s overall performance versus Leicester, Crouch told TNT Sports 1 (2:44pm, 23 November): “A credit to him. He’s worked at his game; he must have done. And credit to the club really because last year he was getting so much stick from all different quarters.

“Is he going to be a centre-forward of the calibre that Chelsea needs? He’s proving it this season with the number of goals and his all-round play. He’s a handful all the time. Really impressive today.”

Emmanuel Petit loved Jackson’s Chelsea goal at Leicester for its incredible technique and precision. There’s no doubt that his finishing is improving week on week.

Jackson now has more Premier League goals for Chelsea than Hernan Crespo, netting 21 top-flight goals since his arrival into English football last summer.

Blues manager Enzo Maresca has put faith in the Senegalese frontman by starting him in every league match this campaign, and he’s justifying that decision with some brilliant displays.
