“He saved Maresca alot in this game” “Man of the day” – John Mikel Obi hails Chelsea star for saving Chelsea in disappointing Everton draw
Due to their defeat by Everton on Sunday afternoon, Enzo Maresca’s team was unable to go up to the top of the Premier League standings.
The Blues’ eight-game winning streak in all competitions came to an end when they drew 0-0 with Everton at Goodison Park, forcing them to settle for a point.
The Blues failed to score in the Premier League match under challenging circumstances. On Boxing Day, Enzo Maresca’s team will play their league debut against Fulham, a local rival.
Even though Chelsea only managed one point against Everton, former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi praised the Chelsea defender for this performance.
In his remarks, Mikel called Tosin Adarabioyo the player of the match against Everton. The Englishman did a good job and almost ever gave up anything that Everton could exploit.
With around 14 minutes remaining, Everton broke down Chelsea’s left, and Tosin saved what would have been a definite goal with a world-class block at full stretch.
“Tosin was the favorite in that challenge and he still won it; his ball-winning and good clearance on that defense line is absurd. He really saved Maresca alot in this game”
“He excels in doing unsightly things. He has done a fantastic job covering. It has been wonderful to read the play. Adarabioyo possesses the exceptional football intellect that is required. Added by John Mikel Obi
