A late drama at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 2-1 following late Noni Madueke penalty goal
However, according to Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson, singles out Christopher Nkunku for praise who had most impact in the game.
Nkunku didn’t actually get a goal nor an assist but he rather did played a key role in the buildup of the first goal.
The Frenchman made his first start for Chelsea since joining from Leipzig and did produce an impressive performance.
Speaking after the game, Crystal Palace manager, Roy Hodgson said of the 26-yr-old.
“Obviously he was our main problem, I mean Nkunku, we had a lot of issues containing him. He was always quick with the feet and with his positioning.
“His pace was disturbing for us to keep in check always and he made good rotations and quick calculations.
“This type of game is very hard to control especially when you go behind first. We tried to get back in the tempo, we tried to fight back but the penalty didn’t help us also. It’s not a night we wanna remember but we have to learn from it.”
Hodgson said after the match.
