“He’s getting better every match” – Eden Hazard reveals why Chelsea man has improved ‘All of a sudden’ under Enzo Maresca
Over the past few months, a number of Chelsea players have made enormous progress in their game.
Since Enzo Maresca was hired as Chelsea’s head coach in the summer, the team has undoubtedly improved.
According to Levi Colwill, Chelsea has improved tactically under Maresca, as evidenced by the team’s improved structure and increased consistency.
According to Eden Hazard, Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea has been better at everything.
CHelsea legend Eden Hazard has delivered a glowing verdict on Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson for his performances this season.
He thinks that the 23-year-old striker has really stepped his game up in the last few months. In fact, he may be the most improved player across the entire Premier League.
Eden Hazard told ESPN: “If we did a most improved Premier League list, Nicolas Jackson would probably be top of it. Given his struggles last season, I wondered if he’d be able to make the grade in a league like this.
“All of a sudden, what we’ve been seeing from Nicolas Jackson under Maresca for Chelsea has been absolutely revealing. Everything about Nicolas Jackson’s game has improved.”
Gianfranco Zola agrees Chelsea frontman Jackson is really improving, and it’s partly down to the entire team getting better around him.
Alan Brazil doesn’t think Chelsea’s Jackson can ever win a Ballon d’Or. Let’s wait and see how much the youngster can develop in the coming years, though.
Nicolas Jackson on fire this season
Jackson has been such a handful for opposition teams this season, particularly in the league. It’s why he’s started every single top-flight match under Maresca.
Here is a look at the centre-forward’s record so far this campaign:
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 11 | 6 | 3 |
Conference League qualifiers | 1 | 0 | 0 |
Jackson ended up with 17 goals across all competitions last year during his debut season as a Chelsea player. If he can break the 20-goal barrier in this second year, it would be a huge statement.
On top of his attacking output, the striker’s general play is fantastic as well.
