‘He’s injured and out of the final game’ – Pochettino rules out Chelsea star of the final game of the season

Mykhaylo Mudryk of Chelsea has been ruled out of the team’s final game of the season by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Due to an injury, Mudryk was replaced in the first half of the Amex Stadium match against Brighton.

Mudryk was replaced just before halftime for a cause related to a concussion.

The Ukrainian will miss Sunday’s end-of-season match against Bournemouth, Pochettino has officially announced.

“No, he is not okay, we are checking,” Pochettino said.

“He was a little bit dizzy but we used the concussion substitution and the rule is seven days so he is not going to be available for the next game but I hope it is nothing wrong.”

The £89m signing has been criticised for his lack of effort since signing for Chelsea, but ex-Premier League star Alan Smith believes Mudryk is now looking like the player Chelsea paid big money to sign.

Former Arsenal striker Alan Smith told Sky Sports: “Mykhaylo Mudryk is looking a bit more like it lately.

“It helps that this is his fifth start on the trot, that is his best.

“He’s bound to gain a bit more match sharpness and rhythm and there should be a lot more to come from the lad. He looks to be heading in the right direction.”
