Chelsea lost more points away at Crystal Palace this past weekend, continuing their dismal run of play.
Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Palace on Saturday afternoon leaves them with just two points from their last four Premier League games.
Cole Palmer’s strike in the first half gave the Blues the lead and their 13th league goal of the year. Palmer’s goal was magically assisted by Jadon Sancho, but it wasn’t enough to win on the road.
Instead, the home team’s equalizer was tapped in by Palace center-forward Jean-Philippe Mateta in the 82nd minute at Selhurst Park.
Following the match, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca bemoaned the team’s performance and criticized striker Nicolas Jackson for failing to convert the opportunities that were created.
“For a striker, sometimes they score all their chances, sometimes they don’t score. He had two or three clear chances today so that means he is there and ready. Hopefully next time he can be more lucky.”
