“He’s one of the best player on the pitch” “Bossing everywhere” – Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola showers praise on Chelsea man after what he did in Chelsea 2-1 win over his team
Chelsea defeated Bournemouth 2-1 at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Moises Caicedo and Raheem Sterling, guaranteeing the Blues’ place in the European League the next season.
Chelsea knew going into their season finale on Sunday that a victory would guarantee them a berth in the Europa Conference League at the at least. Caicedo put them on the scoreboard in the first half with a spectacular long-range finish.
After the break, Sterling gave Mauricio Pochettino’s team a decisive lead. Chelsea went on to win, despite a Benoit Badiashile own goal giving the Cherries hope.
But after Moises Caicedo’s great performance in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory over Bournemouth, Bournemouth coach Andoni Iraola praised the player and said he makes things tough for his team when he plays.
“He was everywhere on the pitch, bossing the midfield and scoring a beautiful goal,” Andoni Iraola remarked following the game.
“Once he was subbed we were able to play well and penetrate into Chelsea box and they lose their midfield he’s really a top player that everyone will want to have him on the pitch”
The victory puts the hosts in sixth place overall. Should Manchester City defeat Manchester United in the FA Cup final the following weekend, Chelsea will advance to the Europa League next season.
