“He’s the Jack Grealish of Chelsea” – Joe Cole reveals why he’s a big fan Chelsea star
Joe Cole has admitted that he’s a big fan of Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer.
In addition, he’s compared the Blues summer signing to Tottenham’s James Maddison and Manchester City’s Jack Grealish.
Cole Palmer, who cost £40million (Sky Sports) to sign from Manchester City, has walked into a very young squad at Chelsea.
The 21-year-old attacking playmaker certainly fits the mould of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad at Stamford Bridge, so it’s going to be interesting to see how he integrates in the months ahead.
He’s made just a couple of cameo appearances from the bench so far. Hopefully, he gets his first Chelsea start during this Sunday’s home fixture against Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Former Chelsea star Cole believes Palmer is a special forward with individual talent.
Maddison and Grealish, two senior England internationals, are some of the very best dribblers currently active in the Premier League.
Only time will tell how high Palmer’s ceiling is as he develops and gets more senior minutes, but it’s obvious from his previous stint in Man City’s first team he’s got fantastic technique on his left foot and an eye for goal.
“He’s the Jack Grealish, James Maddison type. He’s got lovely balance, a lovely left foot,” Cole told TNT Sports.
“I’ve watched him mainly playing off the right, coming in on his left foot. But he could play as a 10.
“He can float anywhere in the final third, but he’s just a player that makes an impact.”
“He’s a top, top player.”
