“He’s very angry” – Michael Essien reveals why Chelsea star is angry following latest comments on his Chelsea future
Chelsea legend John Obi Mikel has been very critical of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson.
After Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City, Mikel Obi hit out at Nicolas Jackson, saying he’s not good enough to be Chelsea’s main striker due to his poor finishing.
Nicolas Jackson responded on Instagram by telling Mikel to ‘shut his mouth’.
Former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien, who was Mikel Obi’s former team-mate, has weighed in on the incident.
Essien believes Nicolas Jackson is hurt that he’s being attacked by a former Chelsea player.
“We all have our personalities,” Essien told Joy Sports.
“Some will say it, but for me, I will just ignore it.
“Everyone has an opinion, but I think it’s not personal.
“However, when the criticism comes from ex-players, it hurts the players even more, and then they react [like Jackson].”
