‘His best position’: Pochettino confirms £45m star will return against Brighton in desperate attempt to win
Only four sides have registered more attempts on goal than Chelsea so Mauricio Pochettino will hope he finds luck against Brighton in the League Cup.
Pochettino told reporters ahead of the game from Chelsea’s training base in Surrey: “I am so happy with Levi and the way he is playing. He is showing character and is providing the team with a very good balance.
“I think Chilly is going to have the possibility to play, I think tomorrow he is going to play. I think always, the expectation and what we expect from the player, we were using him maybe not in his best position because he was a winger.
“That is why after we start to play with a winger like Mischa, when he recovered, our thought was to keep Levi in the position.”
Chelsea have only scored five league goals this season and three of them have come against newly promoted Luton Town. There is the need to score goals and improve performance across the team and the former PSG manager admits his only headache at the moment is how to get the team to put the ball at the back of the net.
