Thibaut Courtois will have his medical with Real Madrid tomorrow in order to complete his move from Chelsea.
That’s according to reliable Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur, who posted the below information on Twitter on Wednesday.
With Courtois looking set to pen a six-year-deal, it looks as though Real Madrid have learned from Chelsea’s mistakes.
We allowed Courtois to run down his contract and he took full advantage of the situation, even going AWOL to force through a move away from the club.
The £35M will also go towards payment of Kepa Arrizabalaga’s Athletic Bilbao buyout clause, which the Spanish side have confirmed has been paid in full.
Courtois will not be missed. His heart was never in it, and Chelsea have wasted no time in finding a successor who has the potential to be every bit as good.
Official confirmation is all that we await now. Courtois is gone. The Arrizabalaga era is set to begin.
Almost a done deal.
