“I can confirm he’s leaving us” – Club president officially gives Chelsea chance to sign striker after confirming forward ‘CAN LEAVE’

Jonathan David, a striker, may have been made available to Chelsea to attempt and sign during the summer transfer window thanks to Lille.

Over the past few months, the Canadian forward has gained attention from CHELSEA as a possible transfer target. When the summer transfer market opens, the Blues will be eager to bolster their offensive line.

The Blues are also interested in Ivan Toney of Brentford and Victor Osimhen of Napoli; however, David would be a less expensive option than the other two due to his worth of only approximately £50 million.

Additionally, Lille has acknowledged that they are getting ready for the 24-year-old to depart after Club President Olivier Letang stated that the striker is free to leave during this transfer window. defender Leny Yoro, who is also linked with a move to United.

He said: “Leny Yoro and Jonathan David can leave the club this summer. Both have the ‘exit voucher’ due to their contract situation”

David recently provided an update on his future during his latest interview with French media lavoixdunord.

“I have a year left in my contract and frankly, I am not thinking about it. There were rumours in the past, but I will stay at Lille until I sign for another club,” said the Canadian striker.

His contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 but the striker is not aware of negotiations between his agent and the club.

“I don’t know if the club has spoken to my agent,” he said.

“Surely we’ll do it at the end of the season. There are important games remaining, and I want to focus on the pitch.”
