“I can’t work with them” – Enzo Maresca list out the 14 players doesn’t want to work with at Chelsea
Chelsea needs to reduce the size of their huge team.
Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, has stated that he will only use 21 players and is not a big fan of having a large squad. This indicates that he does not have the other players in mind.
These remarks were made by Enzo Maresca during his news conference prior to Chelsea’s matchup with Servette on Thursday.
“I am not working with 42 players. I am working with 21 players,” Enzo Maresca bluntly stated when commenting about the size of his squad.
“The other 15-20 players are training apart. I don’t see them. It’s not a mess like it looks from outside. Absolutely not.
“They can even have 20 years contract, it’s not my point. I don’t care.”
Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling are two high profile players who have been banished from Chelsea’s first-team squad, and they’ve been training separately from the main group of players.
Others are: Kepa, Datro Fofana, Lukaku, Chalobah, Casadei, Angelo, Bergstrom, Deivid Washington, Anjorin, Matos, Vale. Broja was part of the list before his recent transfer to Ipswich.
The separate training is held by Carlo Cudicini, who is a part of Chelsea’s loan unit staff.
