“I challenge you to beat these 6 teams” “Don’t be lazy” – Jason Cundy challenges Chelsea star to step up his game & win the league for Chelseea

Cole Palmer has been urged by a football commentator to take a certain action, but Jason Cundy, a former Blues defender, disagrees with the call.

In the past several weeks, there have been many arguments, and some people have chosen to point fingers at different Chelsea players.

Some of them, in my opinion, have rightfully been marked with questions, but it seems like the critics always demand more when Cole Palmer plays quietly, ignoring the fact that he is still a young player.

When Palmer is on fire, which is more often than not, the praise is everywhere. But if he has an off game, which all players do have, then they seem to be ready to jump on it.

I don’t think what pundit Darren Bent is saying is necessarily unfair here by the way, and he’s said it in a complimentary way. But even still, Cundy believes that there is this wrong narrative that Palmer can’t do it in big games.

He said this week:

“[Cole Palmer going missing in big games] is such a lazy narrative, he’s not even into his second full year of regular first-team football. Have a day off, that’s ridiculous.”

Bent has basically suggested that very point, that Palmer is not yet doing it against the very best and needs to step up there.

In words cited by The Chelsea Chronicle, Bent said on Palmer:

“He’s a lovely footballer, but I think against the very best, I think that’s where we need to see the best of him. He’s such a talented player.”

I think we just need to be a bit more patient with Palmer as he is still a developing player and is not complete yet. The consistency will come in time.
