“I don’t see us making top 4 with him” “He’s making us drop points” – Eden Hazard calls for Chelsea star to be replaced after silly mistake in 1-1 draw against Arsenal

Sanchez has had a patchy start to the season after head coach Enzo Maresca selected him as Chelsea’s starting goalie. Blues supporters have therefore been requesting that the Spaniard be benched.

But manager Maresca has stuck with the former Brighton goalie. Sanchez was again ineffectual in Chelsea’s crucial Premier League match against Arsenal on Sunday, as Gabriel Martinelli beat the Spaniard at his near post to give the Gunners the victory.

Fortunately for Sanchez, Chelsea’s Pedro Neto equalized ten minutes later, and the London rivals split the points during an intense match at Stamford Bridge. Additionally, the Spaniard was able to partially correct his previous mistake by making a  big save from a Mikel Merino shot before Leandro Trossard skied the follow-up.

In the meantime, Eden Hazard replaced Sanchez in January with Enzo Maresca following yet another subpar showing in the Arsenal draw:

“I don’t say he’s not a good keeper, but he constantly loses focus and gives opponents cheap goals. A big club like Chelsea needs a good keeper who’s ready to compete in every competition.” Chelsea will lose the top four if this keeps up.”

“Pedro Neto comes to his rescue, Maresca should get a better keeper to Challenge Sanchez if he wants to fight for the top4 this season and also challenge for the title” He stated

Maresca has maintained that Sanchez remains his first-choice goalkeeper despite the outrage by Chelsea fans over the Spaniard’s unconvincing performances. The Italian will now have two weeks to work on Sanchez’s position in the starting lineup before the Blues return to action against Leicester City on November 23.
