“I don’t want them to start” “They’re always a threat” – Arne slot reveals TWO Chelsea man he’s afraid of ahead of Liverpool clash.. NOT Cole Palmer
When Chelsea faces Liverpool, Enzo Maresca will need to change his starting lineup by at least two players. This weekend marks the Blues’ first Premier League match since the October international break.
Maresca will have to make two changes to the lineup he used at Stamford Bridge after Chelsea and Nottingham Forest drew 1-1 in their previous meeting.
Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella are serving one-match bans and will be sidelined for the game against Liverpool.
Both defenders received their fifth yellow card of the year during the match against Forest, and they will be unable to play in the Premier League again until Chelsea face Newcastle on October 27.
Maresca might therefore start Tosin Adarabioyo at center back instead of Fofana. Since joining Chelsea from Fulham in the summer, the defender has only made one Premier League start for the team. However, this weekend’s trip to Anfield by the Blues could change that.
Renato Veiga may also start at left back in place of Cucurella, who is suspended. Veiga joined Chelsea from Basel and has made eight appearances since making his debut for Portugal during the international break.
Reece James, who resumed training this week, may be able to make his Chelsea debut on Sunday. Maresca will be careful not to rush the Blues captain’s return because he has been out due to injury the entire season.
After joining Chelsea from Manchester United, Jadon Sancho has also had a great start to his career, while Noni Madueke has been one of the season’s standout players thus far. If Maresca wants to alter the lineup from the team that drew with Forest even more, he also has forward options in Christopher Nkunku, Joao Felix, Pedro Neto, and Mykhailo Mudryk.
However, Arne slot believes Caicedo and Noni Madueke may be a problem for his team to tackle.
“Chelsea got some vital players in the midfield and also and also in the attack”
“Likes of Madueke and Caicedo are a great threat for any team we need to focus on them, we just need to focus on Chelsea attacks very they are very dangerous on attack we need to be more careful” stated the player.
Possible Chelsea starting lineup vs Liverpool: Gusto, Adarabioyo, Veiga, Colwill, Caicedo, Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson
