“I have said this multiple times” “Always start him” – Drogba hits at Enzo Maresca decision to drop Chelsea star who’s in-form

Christopher Nkunku has had a strong start to the season for Chelsea, and in a recent interview, he explained his preferred position on the pitch.

Nkunku joined Chelsea from German club RB Leipzig for £52 million last summer, but his debut season was cut short by injury, with only 14 appearances in all competitions.

The 26-year-old had the summer off and performed well in pre-season, but he now finds himself playing second fiddle to Nicolas Jackson in the Premier League.

Didider Drogba, the former player for Chelsea, has sent Enzo Maresca a clear message: Nkunku needs to start several games, especially close ones.If given the opportunity, The Legend thinks Nkuku can win games for the Blues.

“He’s a great player who’s very clinical on the ball very strong and can create space to score goals” .. Drogba remarked

“Enzo Maresca should look into this very well against Bournemouth he bring out his best very crucial game, If he was start against Forest he would have score some goals in a tight area.. very sharp player” . He remarked

Nkunku on his preferred position
When the France international joined the club it was expected that he would be the main man, but due to injuries that hasn’t been the case.

Nkunku is Chelsea’s top goalscorer this season with seven goals in all competitions, including his first hat-trick for the club in the 5-0 win against Barrow in the Carabao Cup.

However, in the Premier League it’s been a different story with Nkunku starting just one of Chelsea’s first seven games, which was against Manchester City on the opening day.

His only goal in the league was the winner against Bournemouth and despite being versatile across the forward line Enzo Maresca sees him as a striker.

Nkunku himself revealed in a recent interview that he doesn’t have a preferred position and just wants to be as close to the goal as possible.

“I feel the closest to the goal to find the dangerous space, after that, we must be able to adapt to different systems,” he told L’Equipe.

The most important thing is to adapt to the coach’s instructions. I’m hungry to play and show what I’m capable of.”

Chelsea played 1-1 draw against Nottingham forest as the Blues remain 4th in the Premier League table.

However, Noni Madekue seal the draw for CHelsea after Cole Palmer’s assist.

Chelsea really played to win the game but it was a tight game for Enzo MAresca and his team.
