“I hope all players can learn this” “It keeps me moving” – N’Golo Kante finally reveals ‘one major’ lesson he learnt at Chelsea in his seven years at Stamford Bridge

One of the greatest defensive midfielders in the history of the game is N’Golo Kante. Of his generation, Kante is arguably the best box-to-box midfielder.

After spending one season in Saudi Arabia, Kante is still going strong at the age of 33, as evidenced by his success in the Euros with France.

From 2016 until 2023, Kante played with Chelsea for seven years. He claims that this experience helped him develop his offensive skills.

Kante changed his role at Chelsea from being a box-to-box midfielder to a specialist defensive midfielder at Leicester.

Regarding playing a more offensive role for France, Kante responded, “You have to know how to do it at the right time,” to a question.

“These are things that I learned to repeat at Chelsea. We will say that it is also the maturity and sensitivity to do it at the right time with the French team. For the moment it is working well.

“As I said, the main thing is complementarity, sometimes it’s another environment that will have to be covered, sometimes it will be up to me to go there, but knowing how to do it well when you can.”
