“I love Chelsea since day one” “I want to play for Enzo Maresca” – Most expensive footballers in history send clear transfer message to Chelsea

This summer’s transfer window has seen many ups and downs, with Chelsea in the middle of things.

Samu Omorodion was supposed to sign for Chelsea, but the agreement fell through when the striker failed his physical and Chelsea attempted to alter the terms of the contract.

Joao Felix, a former loanee, is now the target of Chelsea.

After agreeing a fee worth £34.5m for Samu Omorodion which has now been squashed, Chelsea have pivoted towards re-signing Felix from the La Liga giants in a deal which could be worth around £40million.

According to a report by The Telegraph, Joao Felix has made it clear to Chelsea he wants to make a surprise return to Stamford Bridge.

The Portugal international spent half a season on loan with Chelsea in 2023, and he has reportedly indicated his desire to return to the Premier League in a permanent move to Chelsea, after spending last season on loan with Barcelona.

Atletico are understood to value Felix at around £43million but it’s thought Chelsea could land him for an initial fee of less than £40million.

Felix, 24, is reportedly also willing to take a significant pay cut to fit into Chelsea’s wage structure.

This will be a good deal for a player who is one of the most expensive footballers in history, as the £108.8m Atletico paid Benfica for him remains the fifth highest fee ever.

His agent Jorge Mendes is still in London negotiating his potential return and talks remain ongoing, according to Fabrizio Romano.
