Thibaut Courtois has been discussing his future at Chelsea (again), and these comments seem more positive than the ones prior.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll be well aware that a major question mark has emerged over the future of Courtois at Stamford Bridge.
He’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and considering the age that goalkeepers usually hit their prime, he’s not even at the peak of his powers yet.
However, it has been heavily suggested that Courtois will not complete his development in West London. Instead, Real Madrid will be the team to benefit from it.
Courtois’ family still live in Madrid from his time at Atletico. It would be hard to hold it against him if he were looking to return to the Spanish capital.
The 26-year-old has reiterated that he misses his family, but this time insisted that he is happy in London, suggesting that he could stay put after all.
He’s quoted by the Express saying:
“I love living in London. The only thing is that my children live in Madrid and I would like them to be close.”
“That doesn’t mean I’m going to come back, but for me they are very important and I’m going to do something to see them more.”
We just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope he makes the right decision.
