“I want him at Chelsea before deadline” – Enzo Maresca wants Chelsea to complete £80m star deal before Monday’s deadline
According to latest reports, Enzo Maresca is reportedly keen for Chelsea to get their wallet out before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Chelsea have been linked with an array of players throughout the January transfer window but are yet to make any signings.
Chelsea have been in talks with Manchester United to buy Alejandro Garnacho, though nothing has come from it so far.
They are also thought to be interested in Bayern Munich’s Mathys Tel, but moving to Stamford Bridge does not seem to be on his agenda.
Enzo Maresca wants Chelsea to sign Alejandro Garnacho
While Chelsea have been in talks with United over a potential deal for Garnacho, the Blues are yet to make an official offer for the winger.
It has been reported that United value Garnacho at £80m, making this a difficult transfer for Chelsea.
Even so, according to GiveMeSport, Enzo Maresca still wants Chelsea to bid for the 20-year-old and their rivals have been waiting for them to do so.
Garnacho came on in United’s 2-0 win against FCSB on Thursday. He remains a player of use to Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
Chelsea face new competition for Alejandro Garnacho’s signature
Napoli were the club Chelsea were competing against for Garnacho, but they now appear to have withdrawn from the race after turning to Al-Ahli’s Allan Saint-Maximin.
However, it does not mean that the Blues are now going to get a free run at Garnacho.
GiveMeSport’s report also claims that Tottenham Hotspur are looking at the Argentina international and are thinking about making a move for him.
Out of the two London clubs, you would back Chelsea to come out on top. Spurs are having a horrendous season, currently finding themselves 16th in the Premier League table.
At Chelsea, there is a lot more competition out wide. But Garnacho is a young and confident footballer and you can see that from how he plays. He will fancy his chances at Stamford Bridge.
