“I want him at Chelsea before pre-season starts” – Enzo Maresca approved to sign £40m player

Just now, Chelsea’s effort to sign a player valued at £40 million this summer received approval from the new head coach.

This summer, 44-year-old Enzo Maresca was named Chelsea’s new manager. On July 1st, he formally starts employment.

Although the Blues have a system in place where the co-sporting directors manage transfers, it’s encouraging to hear the head coach is offering his thoughts on possible targets.

It’s critical that Maresca’s team embraces the notion that he plays a possession-based brand of football.

Enzo Maresca approves Chelsea’s pursuit to sign Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed via X that Chelsea have been in negotiations with Leicester City to sign Foxes midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

He shared that Maresca has approved the decision to move for the 25-year-old star. In fact, he’s given a glowing verdict on the player he coached last season at the King Power Stadium.

BBC Sport has said that Chelsea’s first offer to sign Dewsbury-Hall has fallen below Leicester’s £40m asking price.

On top of that, Romano claimed via X that Chelsea are discussing including David Datro Fofana and Cesare Casadei in the deal for Dewsbury-Hall.

Dewsbury-Hall had the best season of his career to date last year, where Maresca managed to make him a key part of Leicester’s success.

The box-to-box midfielder finished last season with 12 goals and 15 assists across all competitions.

If Maresca thinks he’s ready to make an impact at Chelsea, the club should back him.
