“I want leave before deadline transfer” – Chelsea player calls for shock exit before deadline
According to journalist Alfredo Pedulla, AC Milan is interested in Joao Felix, and his agent Jorge Mendes is scheduled to meet with the Italian club.
With only a few days left in the January transfer window, Chelsea may not have been as active as anticipated, but this is typically when transactions begin to take place.
Although the Blues have finally sold Cesare Casadei to Torino, they are still seeking to transfer several players before Monday’s deadline.
Felix attracting interest from Milan
Whilst outgoings would appear to be the priority the Blues would like to bring in an attacker as they search for an alternative and competition for Nicolas Jackson.
Mathys Tel was a target but he’s now decided to stay at Bayern Munich, whilst the Blues have also been linked with Liam Delap, and are said to have joined the race for Brighton’s Evan Ferguson.
In order for an attacker to come in it’s likely one will have to leave, with Felix and Christopher Nkunku the most likely candidates.
Nkunku had attracted interest from Bayern, but with Tel staying put that’s unlikely to happen, and an exit for Felix could be easier.
Despite only joining for £45m last summer, the Blues are seemingly open to offers for the 25-year-old, with Aston Villa very interested after Jhon Duran moved to Saudi side Al Nassr.
However, Italian giants AC Milan are also interested and Pedulla has provided an update with Felix’s agent set to meet with the Italian club.
He took to X.com and said:
“Jorge #Mendes landed at #Torino officially to watch his son’s match. But in the next few hours he will meet #Milan : in his agenda there is Antonio #Silva (high clause), however the spotlight will be on #JoaoFelix.”
Felix has struggled for regular minutes in the league, only starting three games from a possible 23, although he’s fared better in the cup competitions and has seven goals in all competitions this season.
A January departure would come as a shock, but if that’s the sacrifice Chelsea have to make in order to bring a striker in then it has to be done.
