“I want to be at Stamford Bridge next season” “I want to be among winners” – Player sent transfer message to Chelsea ahead of next season

One Chelsea player has no immediate plans to leave the team permanently.

Given the approaching transfer window, a few Chelsea players might be considering their futures.

Thiago Silva is already aware that he won’t be playing for Chelsea the following year.

The central defender has made the decision to sign for Fluminense since his contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Alfie Gilchrist might also depart the team, though it’s unlikely that he will do so permanently.

Chelsea youngster has no plans to depart Stamford Bridge permanently
According to journalist Simon Phillips, the plan is for Gilchrist to go out on loan next season.

At the same time, though, Phillips has claimed that the centre-back has made it clear to Chelsea that he has a desire to make it at the club.

On his Substack, he wrote: “Alfie has a huge desire to make it at Chelsea, and he has made that clear in recent conversations with the club.”

Gilchrist, who has come through Chelsea’s academy, made his first-team debut this season.

It came in the Blues’ 2-1 win against Crystal Palace back in December.

Should Chelsea loan out Alfie Gilchrist?
Gilchrist has made 17 appearances for Chelsea’s first team this season and has rarely disappointed.

The 20-year-old has even managed to score a goal and was described as “excellent” by Jamie Redknapp after his side’s 2-0 win against London rivals Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month.

Ultimately, Gilchrist has probably proven that he is good enough to be in this Chelsea squad.

However, he is unlikely to be a regular starter next season with all of the defensive options that Mauricio Pochettino currently has. Therefore, a loan for the 2024/25 campaign does make sense.

In terms of where the English youngster could go, it needs to be a Premier League loan. He has proven this term that he can play at this level.
