“I want to challenge Nicolas Jackson” “Give me the chance” – 40 million striker wants Chelsea move this summer
Jhon Duran, a striker for Aston Villa, is apparently eager to join Chelsea in order to take on Nicolas Jackson, as he has attracted interest from several Italian teams.
The Colombian star, who was traded by Chicago Fire to the Villans in January 2023, has only netted five goals in 35 games.
Ollie Watkins has mostly used Duran as a replacement, and the player is eager to leave the team in order to get regular playing time.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea is reportedly interested in signing him and that initial negotiations have started.
Duran has already given the green light for the transfer and Villa are prepared to sell him for a fee between £35-40 million.
The news will come as a surprise for Chelsea fans, considering they were initially interested in Napoli star Victor Osimhen.
The Nigerian is no longer on their radar, considering his huge wage demands and the £111 release clause in his contract.
The Blues are prepared to pursue a cheap alternative with potential and believe Duran could develop into an elite marksman.
