“I was shocked” – Rodri makes HUGE Cole Palmer claim after his stunning goal in Euro 2024 final

Cole Palmer is expected to have a bright future, according to Spain’s Rodri, after the England player once again showed promise following his team’s devastating loss in the Euro 2024 final.

After making an unexpected transfer from Manchester City, the 22-year-old had a fantastic debut season at Chelsea and fought his way into Gareth Southgate’s starting lineup.

Palmer was chosen ahead of more experienced internationals like Jack Grealish, his old club colleague, despite having only made his senior Three Lions debut in November of last year.

Despite all the difficulties, England managed to make it to the final in Berlin thanks to the skillful forward, who has adapted to the international arena with ease.

Palmer enhanced his burgeoning reputation with a superb long-range strike that briefly threatened to turn the momentum of the contest in England’s favour.

‘We knew they don’t need to do a great game to score goals,’ said Rodri, who was forced off at half-time with an injury.

‘I know these guys, he’s (Cole’s)a huge talent and going to be a top player in the next years, he put it in the corner.

‘In these moments we suffered a little bit but in this tournament we saw something different to overcome the situations.’

The night and the tournament belonged to Spain, however, and Rodri believes this is just the start of another period of domination for La Roja.

He added: ‘It’s unbelievable, this is a dream. Nowe we are the best national team in the Euros, this is crazy.

‘This stuff is about how humble we have been all these years to keep working and neve lose the faith. And this tournament? Come on we we beat four World Cup champions. It was so tough, it was unbelievable.

‘Imagine what we have next. We are so happy to make history but this doesn’t stop here.

‘The future for us is going to be everything because we have the talent and now we will face whatever comes but it’s important to celebrate what we have done.’
