Loads of Chelsea fans have been going crazy for some transfer news suggesting they plan to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga with Atletico Madrid star Jan Oblak.
According to Latin outlet El Chiringuito TV, via Chelsea blogger Simon Phillips, the Blues have offered €30m (£25m) plus Kepa for the Slovenian stopper. This comes after reports earlier this month that claimed Frank Lampard wants the Spaniard sold following his perilous form this campaign.
According to FBref.com, Kepa’s save percentage of 53.6% is the lowest in the Premier League this season, more than 6% behind the next lowest, which is Everton’s Jordan Pickford on 59.8%.
The 25 year-old has been axed from the team in favour of Willy Caballero, and Blues fans are absolutely loving the prospect of swapping him plus cash for Oblak, who boasts a 73.9% save rate in La Liga this term.
The Atletico Madrid star is widely considered to be one of the best shot-stoppers in world football, racking up a remarkable 133 clean sheets in 242 appearances in the Spanish capital.
Valued at £90m by Transfermarkt, securing the 27 year-old ‘beast’ would be quite a coup, as you can see from the excitement in the reactions down below…
