Finally, we have received confirmation that Gianfranco Zola has returned to the club as assistant manager.
Zola is one of the greatest players ever to pull on a Chelsea shirt. Those who were lucky enough to see him play at the Bridge will always have a special place for him in their heart.
When reports emerged that Zola was set to join Maurizio Sarri for his adventure in West London, Chelsea fans couldn’t help but get excited.

He knows the club like the back of his hand. He’s the perfect assistant to ease Sarri’s transition into life in the Premier League.
It’ll also be great to see a familiar face on the touchline. That’s been lacking since Roberto Di Matteo was promoted to first-team manager and subsequently sacked.
The club were yet to confirm Sarri’s return, until now. The below photo emerged of Sarri and Zola jetting off for the first leg of our pre-season tour.
