Inter Milan Make Dramatic Late Move For Chelsea Star

Having dramatically secured their place in the group stages of the Champions League courtesy of a 3-2 win at Lazio on the final day of the 2017/18 Serie A campaign, Inter Milan have been busy strengthening their squad for the challenges that lie ahead.

Exciting Senegalese attacker Keita Balde is the latest man to put pen to paper at the San Siro, following Sime Vrsaljko, Stefan de Vrij, Radja Nainggolan, Kwadwo Asamoah, Lautaro Martinez and Matteo Politano through the doors this summer.

If recent reports are to be believed, however, then Luciano Spalletti has one more major deal up his sleeve before the Italian transfer window slams shut on Friday, with Chelsea forward Pedro thought to be firmly in his sights.

Despite being 31 years of age, the World Cup and European Championship winner still benefits from a good turn of pace, whilst he also boasts the sort of Champions League experience that could be of great benefit to the Nerazzurri:

A veteran of close to 75 games at the top table of continental competition, Pedro has weighed in with a goal or an assist roughly once every three matches, whilst he is also a three-time winner of the prestigious tournament from his time at Barcelona.

Comfortable operating down either flank, or even through the middle if required, the 31-year-old currently finds himself behind both Eden Hazard and Willian in the pecking order at Stamford Bridge, though his record across the last three top-flight campaigns is pretty similar to that of the talented Brazilian:

Chelsea’s inability to bring in a replacement could prove to be a major stumbling block to any potential deal, but receiving a significant fee for a player who probably doesn’t make it into Maurizio Sarri’s first choice XI is likely to prove tempting to the West London outfit.
