Carlo Ancelotti could reignite the Chelsea owners’ plan to bring silverware to Stamford Bridge. In May 2022, Clearlake Capital, owned by Behdad Eghbali and José E Feliciano, joined forces with Todd Boehly to buy the west London outfit from Roman Abramovich.
The consortium bought Chelsea for £4.25bn, making the Blues the most expensive football club in the world. An official statement revealed that Clearlake and Boehly paid £2.5bn for shares while £1.75bn was set aside for investments in infrastructure, the men’s team, the women’s team, the academy and charity funding.
The owners have welcomed lots of new players, managers and staff to Cobham, but they’re yet to reap the rewards of their investment on the pitch. In their debut season of ownership, Chelsea finished in the bottom half of the Premier League.
In the following campaign, the Blues ranked sixth, securing qualification to the UEFA Conference League. Under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea have shown great promise, with a place in the UEFA Champions League up for grabs.

“Maybe we should have crossed less and tried other things. We need to be self-critical. We have to be self-critical; sometimes, we need to play more as a team. We have zero doubt about Carlo Ancelotti.”
According to Sky Sports, the 65-year-old could leave Real Madrid after the Copa del Rey final. Los Blancos will lock horns with Barcelona at the Estadio de La Cartuja in Seville on on April 26.
The report claims that Brazil want to appoint Ancelotti as their new head coach – and they want to wrap up a deal before the end of the domestic season.
So, if Chelsea want to bring the Italian back to Stamford Bridge then they need to secure his signature as soon as possible! Although the Blues would sacrifice an element of control, Ancelotti would be a breath of fresh air in west London.
