‘Its done done done! – Chelsea release statement confirming deal for brilliantly gifted midfielder
Santos will play for Strasbourg on loan for the upcoming season, according to Chelsea.
Following his signing from Vasco da Gama a few January windows ago, the Brazilian youth joined Chelsea’s squad last summer and made an impression on the team’s preseason tour of the United States.
In the summer transfer window, Chelsea took the significant choice to let Santos join Forest for the upcoming campaign, hoping that he would receive some playing time to acclimate to the English style of football.
The 19-year-old midfielder, however, has only made two appearances for Forest in all competitions since transferring to the City Ground in the summer. He was sent to Strasbourg when the most recent January transfer market opened.
He has been back at the club for a few weeks after that loan spell, but now it has been confirmed that the Brazilian will spend next season back at the French side after the Blues confirmed the deal on their website.
Chelsea posted on the club website: ‘The 20-year-old spent the second half of the previous campaign with the French club, during which he made 11 appearances and scored one goal.
‘He has now left our summer tour of the USA and will continue his development with Strasbourg in the French top flight.
