‘It’s my dream to play for Chelsea’… Defender wants Premier League and Chelsea move ‘Chelsea is my favorite club’

Despite Chelsea poor form, but that has not stopped players from dreaming about playing for Chelsea.

One young defender wants to ply his trade in the English top flight one day and may have his heart set on a move to Stamford Bridge.

Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu recently spoke to bold.dk, where he talked about his ambitions for the future and named Chelsea as his favourite team.

Mauricio Pochettino already has options at left-back, but the Blues could end up making a move for a new one, with the club currently being linked with Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies.

Chelsea are Patrick Dorgu’s favourite team

Dorgu was asked bout his dream in football by bold.dk. In response, he said: “My dream is, of course, the Premier League, but right now I am also in a very good place in my career. If it were to be somewhere in Italy, it wouldn’t be too bad either.”

The 19-year-old was then asked does he have a favourite club, to which he responded: “Yes, it’s Chelsea.”

Chelsea still have their pull

Again, Chelsea have been on the decline since Roman Abramovich sold the club to Todd Boehly and his consortium and no one can deny that.

They finished 12th last season and are not doing too much better this term, though performances have picked up in the last few weeks under Pochettino.

Nevertheless, that has not stopped Stamford Bridge from becoming an attractive destination.

Chelsea have managed to sign the likes of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia despite facing competition and, based on Dorgu’s words, they will probably be in a position to win even more transfer battles in the future.

After all of their recent success, which helped Chelsea to grow in stature and popularity, it is clear to see that players around the world remain fans of the club. Money, of course, will always be a factor, but footballers around Dorgu’s age would have grown up watching the Blues being one of the most successful teams in the world, giving them appeal today.
