Jadon Sancho sends clear touching message to Erik ten Hag after his outstanding Chelsea debut

After Chelsea’s forward Jadon Sancho made his debut by setting up Christopher Nkunku’s winning goal against Bournemouth, Enzo Maresca praised Sancho’s effect.

After a falling out with Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, during the previous season, Sancho was brought on at halftime for his first Premier League game in a year.

While Sancho and Ten Hag’s spat was resolved this summer, on transfer deadline day, he signed a loan deal with the Blues. He then set up the winning goal in the 86th minute, when Nkunku twisted inside the area and hit the bottom corner for the lone goal on the south coast.

“Very happy, very happy for him. He was very good,” Maresca said of Sancho.

“I have a feeling that Jadon is a guy that needs love. This is what I thought when I spoke with him before he joined us.

“Also I know he has the desire to show the player he is, but for me, it is just to enjoy football. This is the reason why they play.

“Jadon helped us a lot but what he did tonight is exactly what we expected from him. As I said, I know Jadon very good because I watched him many, many times in the past and I know what he can give us.

“Then also Christopher was very good and not just because he scored but because he fought without the ball and Jadon was exactly the same.

“The performance second half changed completely but we need to learn these kind of things if we want to build something important and we want to win games, first of all we need the desire to win games, win duels and to fight together.”

Meanwhile, Jadon Sancho send clear message to Erik ten Hag after his Chelsea debut:

“This is the chance am seeking from Erik ten Hag but he declined me the chance to prove myself more”

“Just being back playing I’m very grateful. The team played very well and we are happy with the three points. “I’ve been working hard for this moment and I’m just happy that I got my chance. I had a great end to last season being in the Champions League final.

I just told myself going into this season, I want to have a great start to the season, This is my first game so I’m happy to get a win with Chelsea.”

“I have to say thank all the staff and obviously my team-mates. The first day I came in, they made me feel welcome and I’m thankful to them for making me to feel this comfortable.” He said
