John Terry sends clear message to Chelsea star as he leaves Stamford Bridge for new club
John Terry, a Chelsea icon, paid a heartfelt homage to Thiago Silva on Instagram. Silva is expected to leave the team this summer and sign a free agency contract to return to Palmeiras.
After leaving Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, Silva joined Chelsea and has since made 112 Premier League games, helping to produce 32 clean sheets.
Among other things, his defense leadership was essential to Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League win.
In a post via his Instagram handle on Sunday, Terry posted a heartfelt message alongside a picture of Silva:
“Good Luck today in what will be an emotional day at the Bridge. @chelseafc Thank you for everything you have done for our club, we Love You my friend.
“It’s been a pleasure to watch you play week after week, to watch you train and see how you look after yourself before games and after games has been inspiring, I just wish I was a few years younger because I would have loved to have played alongside you at the back.
