Blaugrana defender reacted positively to the rumours connecting Morata to Barca.

Alba would welcome the striker to the club.
He believes Morata ‘has been a top player for many years’.
Barcelona defender Jordi Alba reacted to the rumours concerning alleged Alvaro Morata’s interest in joining Barcelona and admitted he would welcome the Chelsea forward into Blaugrana.

Alba said, as cited by Goal:

“Morata is a player that I appreciate a lot, he has been a top player for many years. In the end, it’s the club’s [decision] if they want to sign him or not, as with any other player.

“If the rumours are true, he would be very welcome, as all the new players [are].”

Catalan radio station RAC1 reported this week that Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata has ‘offered his services’ to Barcelona as he would like a move to Spain in the summer transfer window.

The source even claims that there have already been a couple of meetings between the parties, held in London, where the details of a potential transfer were first discussed.

RAC1 insists that ‘negotiations between Morata’s camp and Barcelona are at an initial stage.’ According to the outlet, Spain international is unhappy at Chelsea and sees Catalan side as ‘an attractive place to try to resurrect his career,’ despite his Real Madrid upbringing.
