Jose Mourinho backs Enzo Maresca to fight for the league as he fires back at Pep Guardiola

Pep Guardiola stoked back old rivalry between himself and Jose Mourinho.

When City were being bashed by Tottenham 4-0, Spurs fans began to sing “you’ll be sacked in the morning”.

Pep Guardiola responded by pointing out 6 fingers – a sign showing the number of Premier League titles he has won.

Jose Mourinho had done a similar signage, after winning three Premier League titles with Chelsea and back Enzo Maresca to win Chelsea the league.

Speaking later to the media, Guardiola referenced Mourinho’s infamous three-fingered gesture, saying that he had twice as many Premier League titles as the Portuguese manager.

Jose Mourinho has responded to Pep Guardiola’s dig at him, saying that he won his Premier League titles “fair and clean”.

“Guardiola said he won 6 trophies while I won 3,” Mourinho said.

“However, I won them fair and clean. If I lose, I would like to congratulate my opponent for being better than me.

“I don’t want to win while having 150 legal cases.”

“With their current form, Chelsea can still win the league this season. Enzo Maresca should strive to surprise everyone by winning the league as well. We don’t win the league at Chelsea with 150 court cases”.
