Jose Mourinho has backed Enzo Maresca to complete signing of brilliant 43-goal striker
As one of the favorites to complete a summer transfer for Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, Chelsea is still being connected to the player.
For the past few months, there has been nonstop conjecture in the media that we will raid the transfer window once more in order to bolster our attack with a goal-scoring striker, and Gyokeres is supposedly on the list.
With 43 goals in all competitions for the team last season, the Swedish striker has been in incredible form this season and is a guy that all the major teams are vying for.
In light of this, Betfair has updated the odds for the 26-year-old’s future and is backing Chelsea at 5/1 to win a deal done for the striker.
According to Jose Mourinho recently claimed that Gyokeres would score goals at Stamford Bridge – he said: “I watched him last year scoring goals for fun. You thought what a goalscorer and what a finisher. [Clubs] sit on the fence and are scared to make a judgement.
“He’s good enough. He’ll score goals. He scored at Coventry, he has scored alot of goals for Sporting. There’s talent out there that may not cost alot of money, he is just the type of player that the CHELSEA board like to sign.’
