According to Nizaar Kinsella, a tier 1 source and very respectable journalist, Ajax’s Andre Onana has emerged as a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
It seems Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has given up hopes on Arrizabalaga and might move for a new goalkeeper during the summer, as Caballero isn’t reliable as well.
Burnley’s Nick Pope and Crystal Palace goalkeeper Vicente Guaita have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge to rival Kepa. More recently, Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan has also been linked with a move to the club.
Goal has now claimed that Chelsea are also contemplating a move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Onana has two years left on his contract with Ajax and is keen to move on at the end of the season, with the Premier League his most likely destination.
Ajax could be willing to sell the 23-year-old for the right offer, and Chelsea could make a swoop during the summer transfer window.
However, reports claim that Chelsea’s goalkeeping department chief, Christophe Lollicon, and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech will be consulted by Lampard before a call is made on Kepa’s future.
