JUST IN: As Real Madrid and Chelsea have NOT yet agreed on Hazard’s transfer fee
Eden Hazard hits headlines again. According to the Standard, Eden Hazard’s future is still up in the air. The report in Tuesday’s edition of the newspaper insists Real Madrid and Chelsea are yet to come to an agreement over a price for the Belgian star.
On Monday L’Equipe assured both clubs had already settled everything and a move worth £87m was already in place and would be announced after the Europa League final on May 29.
The Standard deny the abovementioned information. They claim ‘Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is still holding out for the asking price of £100m plus’. That’s why Hazard made the following claim concerning his future after the Leicester draw [0-0] in the final game of the Premier League season:
“I have made my decision, but it is not just about me. I’m still waiting. I told the club a couple of weeks ago. I wanted that [clarity] but that’s not happened.”
The Standard add Hazard hopes the clubs will eventually reach a compromise and is ‘optimistic’ about a summer move.
