JUST IN: Enzo Maresca tells two first team player to leave club as he makes brutal decision

As Chelsea try and complete any last minute signings before the transfer window temporarily closes, attention will soon turn to moving players on from the club and streamlining the first team squad.

The Blues were hopeful of signing Jamie Gittens and Mike Maignan before the window slams shut ahead of the Club World Cup to add to the addition of Liam Delap.

However, Chelsea have walked away from Maignan, as negotiations continue over a potential move for the winger.

It therefore looks like one of the Blues’ two goalkeepers from last season, Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, will don the gloves for their opening group game next week against LAFC.

There is also the option to give another chance to Djordje Petrovic after he spent the last campaign on loan at Strasbourg.

Chelsea tell Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez they can leave

However, the two could actually be playing for their futures at the club. Graeme Bailey has told The Chelsea Chronicle that the Blues have already told both Sanchez and Petrovic they can leave this summer.

He said: “This talk of Chelsea having full faith in their five goalkeepers because we can throw Kepa into this as well. There really is no faith from Enzo Maresca in this at all. Of those five, Enzo Maresca doesn’t want any of them. Robert Sanchez has been told he can leave.

“Djordje Petrovic has been told he can leave and there’s interest from Nice. There’s quite a bit of interest in France in him. No shock given the season he just had.”
