Just In: Marina Granovskaia leading pursuit for striker on transfer deadline day

The Blues need a striker this January, and the Blues are pushing to bring in a forward before the close of the transfer window.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has since admitted that the striking role is where he needs to strengthen, and the Blues have been linked with a number of striking targets.

Chelsea have struggled in the transfer market this window, and Napoli star Dries Mertens represents the club’s biggest chance of signing a striker.

Mertens, 32, is out of contract in the summer and Chelsea have offered €7 million to recruit him now, which have already been been rejected by the club.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is proving quite difficult to deal with as always, but the Blues are still pressing to seal a deal before the end of the window.

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia is leading the pursuit for Mertens and is considering making a better offer of €10m on Friday to secure the signing.

We just hope he join us before the end of today!
